CQRS - The new "it" architecture

Developers as a group tend not to be the most fashionable bunch. If you work with a development team of any size you will most likely see every fashion disaster known to man at some point. We feel we have more important things to worry about than the latest hipster jeans or whether our plaid sweater vest has been washed recently. But one area where we are as fickle and opinionated as any fashionista is our choice in technology stack or our current favorite architecture patterns & practices.

When a new architecture, pattern, or technology, replete with new "sexy" acronyms appears on the scene, we dive in head first, read everything we can and quickly form strong opinions; either hailing it as the hip new thing or lambasting it as the pointless waste of time.
